Put simply, John was absolutely first class and as a former tour guide back in my uni days, I have to give him five stars for knowledge and effort, especially with two sometimes tired travellers. After that it was a tour of downtown and uptown Kingston, with John making an effort to answer all our questions about everything we happened to see out the window, while taking us through an incredible drive through the markets, seemingly avoiding the masses of people absolutely everywhere. Rest assured John had his window down and seemed to know everyone, making sure we felt safe and could get out of the car to look around. Upon getting in the car (luxury van), John quickly started explaining to us the ins and out of Kingston, immediately taking us to (his words) the “ghettos” of Kingston which was both eye opening and fascinating. Having arrived (hour delayed) at Kingston airport, it was reassuring to see our guide and driver (John) waiting for us patiently out front the arrivals door.
